Teen Charged With Reckless Endangerment in Bridge Pushing

Taylor Smith Charged

Teen, Taylor Smith changed her plea from Not Guilty to Guilty on March 18th, 2019. Smith forcefully shoved her 16-year-old friend, Jordan Holgerson, from a 60′ state bridge near Moulton Falls, Washington. The fall punctured one of Holgerson’s lungs and broke several ribs. With Taylor Smith’s plea change, she has worked out a deal to serve time under house arrest, complete community service, and work crew detail. She pled guilty to Reckless Endangerment.

What We Can Learn

Most cliff jumpers have witnessed something like this happen at least once. Likely, not as severe, but no matter how high up you are, a push can lead to serious injury or even death. It’s up to us, the community members, to keep awareness high. Be the person that speaks up, be the person to keep everyone at a jump spot safe.
